Welcome to UNAIDS Science now and to the third issue of HIV this month in 2015!

On 23-27 March, UNAIDS and WHO had three separate meetings on PrEP. One focused on the development of implementation guidance for oral PrEP delivery to gay men and other men who have sex with men, which builds on the recommendations made by WHO to add PrEP as a prevention choice for gay men and other men who have sex with men at higher risk. Another discussed the future planning for PrEP in combination HIV prevention, and the last one explored further recommendations that can be made for PrEP for the prevention of sexual HIV transmission.

A summary on HIV prevention at CROI 2015 that covers PrEP by Jared Baeten and Connie Cellum as well as other summaries are found on the National AIDS Treatment and Advocacy Project (NATAP) website. It might be of interest to read Tailored combination prevention packages and PrEP for young key populations by Audrey Pettifor, Nadia Nguyen, Connie Celum et al. in the Journal of the International AIDS Society.

Also, UNAIDS and WHO are hosting Breaking news: CROI 2015 update on 9 April, Thursday, 13h00-14h30 CEST which is available on livestream. Send an email if you can join us!
