Welcome to UNAIDS Science now and to the eighth issue of HIV this month in 2015!

A timely comment in the Lancet by Chris Beyrer et al. - The Vancouver Consensus: antiretroviral medicines, medical evidence, and political will -reaffirms the Vancouver Consensus statement, which emerged at the recently concluded 8th International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention (IAS 2015). The consensus statement highlights the scientific affirmation that, rather than limiting access to those who are immune compromised, immediate access to antiretroviral medicines holds the power to rapidly advance the response to end the AIDS epidemic.

PrEP Implementation Science: State-of-the-Art and Research Agenda, a supplement of the Journal of the International AIDS Society (JIAS) is also a very informative and interesting read.
